Concrete cosmetics were applied to the exterior facades, columns and interior walls as well as other areas such as balconies and terraces. The main problems were gravel pockets formed during the casting process, undesirable spalling and colour changes on the concrete surface and all anchor holes, some of which had to be reconstructed and sealed.
View of the facade at 152 Elisabeth Street prior to treatment. You can see the differences in the colour of the concrete, the local dirt in the plinth area, the very large number of voids and the tension holes that need to be reconstructed and closed.
Following the concrete cosmetic treatment, the entire surface was treated with a suitable sand-coloured concrete glaze. The façade has a uniform, homogeneous appearance.
Inside the building, the exposed concrete is highly porous and uneven in places.
After the cosmetics of the concrete, the interior design gains in serenity.
The cones as well as the formwork joints must be reprofiled. The corners and edges of the walls must be straightened.
Perfect edge reprofiling as an exemplary representation of precise execution and aesthetics.
