Location:

Nibelungenhalle, Königswinter, Germany

Object:

The dragon Fafnir

Architect:

Franz Josef Krings
The work of art by architect and sculptor Franz Josef Krings, which was created in 1933 to mark the 50th anniversary of Richard Wagner's death, had lost its head. Strotmann & Partner began with the restoration. After cleaning, a new metal framework will be created inside. The head, which weighs around 150 kilograms, will then be firmly attached to the body with the help of this inner framework.
